After-School Classes and Clubs
Clubs and after-school classes vary by campus (fees may apply). Students can choose from academic, arts, and cultural enrichment, recreation, leadership development, and group learning activities. . Ask your school about clubs available at your campus.

Annual Forms and First-day Packets
The State of Texas requires every returning student to complete annual forms each school year. The forms are fast, secure, and easy to complete on a desktop, tablet, or mobile phone. Usually, completed student forms are due before the Labor Day holiday. Please contact your school registrar if you need assistance completing your student¡¯s required annual forms.

Some campuses will send students home with first-day packets. The packets include information about campus life and may include paperwork requiring parent signature(s).

Anonymous Reporting
allows students or parents to anonymously submit sensitive or urgent student issues quickly to school officials. Reports such as bullying, cyberbullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and more can be made All messages submitted remain completely anonymous.

MDÍø±¬ÃÅ Rock ISD’s free App is customizable and gives you the information you want to know about your student’s school. The App provides easy access to a variety of District tools and resources all in one place right from your mobile device.

Attendance
Absences add up. Lost time in the classroom is a lost opportunity to learn. Please schedule appointments late in the day and vacations or family trips during District holidays. Having your student in school as frequently as possible positively impacts your student’s academic and social performance and the resources made available to the school(s). Back to School Nights
Each campus hosts an Open House or Back-to-School Night. These events are the ideal time to meet your student’s teacher(s) and learn more about your student’s daily life on campus. Please visit your school’s website for information on dates and times.

MDÍø±¬ÃÅ of Trustee Meetings
Regular meetings of the MDÍø±¬ÃÅ of Trustees are usually held on the third Thursday of each month (except for July) at the MDÍø±¬ÃÅ Rock High School 100 lecture hall beginning at 5:30 p.m. Attend meetings in-person or stream online.

Bus Service
MDÍø±¬ÃÅ Rock ISD provides free bus service for students who live more than two miles from their assigned school and those who live within two miles but along a route defined as “hazardous” to walkers or bike riders. . Simply type in your home address to see the closest stops, pick-up and delivery times, and bus numbers.

. Students place their unique card on the SMARTtag tablet sensor when they load and unload the bus. The SMARTtag system records when students load and unload the bus. Parents/guardians are encouraged to sign up for SMART Alerts and receive emails or text messages when the bus is approximately 10 minutes from the scheduled bus stop.

Chromebooks 1:1
Students are assigned a District-issued Chromebook from their campus. Students are expected to bring their Chromebook charged and ready to school daily. or ask your campus Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) about optional lost, stolen, or damaged device coverage programs starting at $12 per school year.

Class Schedules and Teacher Assignments
Each school has its own method for notifying students of class schedules and teacher assignments. There are generally times and dates scheduled for students and parents to go to the campus to receive information and meet teachers before classes start and for open house nights after school begins. Contact your school or visit their website to see what’s planned.

Clear Bag Policy
We enforce at all large-scale District events at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex and Dragon Stadium. These include varsity football games, band marching contests, and other highly attended events. Clear bag policies are in effect for MDÍø±¬ÃÅ of Trustee meetings and as needed at our performing arts centers and auditoriums.

Dress Code
MDÍø±¬ÃÅ Rock ISD’s student dress code supports equitable educational access, prevents disruption, minimizes safety hazards, and maintains a positive learning climate. .

Food Services
Campuses offer a breakfast and lunch program.

Meal prices:

• Elementary breakfast is $1.50. Lunch is $3.00 per meal.
• Secondary breakfast is $1.50. Lunch is $3.25 per meal.

Students qualifying for reduced meals pay $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.

Visit your school cafeteria or give your student money to pay with either cash or check. The cafeteria staff will apply the funds to your student’s meal fund account. If paying by check, please make it payable to MDÍø±¬ÃÅ Rock ISD Food Service, including your driver’s license number and phone number, and add your student’s name and school ID number to the check memo field.

Payment with a credit card, debit card, or draft from a checking account can be made online. A fee of $2.49 per transaction will be applied. Accounts are free.

Home Access Center (HAC)
Home Access Center (HAC) is an online information system that allows parents/guardians and students to view student information such as report cards, attendance records, class schedules, assignments, transportation information, and grades. Visit HAC online or download the app.

Immunization Information
Students must be up-to-date on all required immunizations or have an exemption affidavit on file with the campus before starting school. Our certified librarians play a crucial role as education partners, offering a wide array of print and digital materials to cater to diverse needs and enhance student learning.

Online Sports & Athletic Tickets
Tickets for all high and middle school athletic events hosted at MDÍø±¬ÃÅ Rock ISD campuses and facilities are sold online. Home and visiting sports fans can before they arrive or scan the QR code posted at the gate to secure their entry.

PTA
Parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers, staff, community members — anyone who wants to help children can join the PTA. Visit to become a member.

School Supplies
Each teacher or school has individual supply requests, so it’s best to get the list directly from the campus. Many campuses post their supply lists on the school website. If you have questions about school supply needs for your student, or if you purchased prepackaged school supplies from the campus PTA, please ask your student’s teacher.

School Safety Zones
School zones are put in place to ensure children’s safety in and around schools. While traveling in school zones, reduce vehicle speed, expect increased traffic, be on the lookout for buses and high concentrations of pedestrians, and obey crossing guards, . Nothing is more precious than the life of a child. Please slow down, pay attention, and ensure students’ safety while traveling to and from school.

Student Medications
Students with daily medical needs can receive authorization for self-carry or will be administered medication by the school nurse. Forms to request medication administration, self-carry, and a food allergy and anaphylaxis emergency care plan are available on the District’s health services website.

Vaping
As part of , students will now be placed in the District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) if the student possesses, uses, is under the influence, sells, gives, or delivers marijuana, THC, or an e-cigarette (vape) while on campus, within 300 feet of school property, or at a school-related event.

Video Intercoms
Entrance doors at all campuses are locked during school hours. .

While on campus, all visitors must check in at the front office. Intercoms are installed outside of the school’s front office. Visitors should be prepared to show their ID and state the nature of their visit to the front office staff using the video intercom system.

Volunteering
There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year at your student’s school. and are encouraged to complete an application at the beginning of the school year. After your application has been successfully processed, you will be eligible to volunteer in our schools.
